The USS Pioneer (NCC-2855) was a 23rd century Federation Locknar-class starship operated by Starfleet. It was constructed as a less expensive yet capable answer to the soon to be retired Constitution Class. Although highly more maneuverable, the Locknar accomplished more with less as it was 2 phaser banks less than the Constitution. By 2300, the Locknar became a front line vessels, although their mortality was less than the Constitution, they were heavily numbered making most expendable. The Pioneer were of the Phobos subclass andwould serve the Federation for over 70 years. Over that time she was upgraded to Isolinear technology, and served multiple years in Trainer service. During the Cardassian war, the Pioneer fought a 6 day battle in the Badlands. Unfortunately the battle would end in a lost of both ships.</b>
