IT MAKES THE STORY WORK!  Besides, what's your basis for this?
Let's see...young girl seperated from parents, that are killed.  Swaps a few owners as a slave, ends up a mercenary....comes across a lightsaber, and self teaches how to use it.  Undisciplined, yet very unique, especially since she's a Chiss.

Well, anyone can get a 9mm and blow off someones head, hows this different.
