Rebecca Dawson is a United Nations Defense Corp Officer assigned under the command of Colonel Jerald Hunt on the Space Colony L4, in the city Odessa.
She is the most talented in her unit, being the only other member of the Unit with no Cybernetic Prosthesis (other then neural network implants).

Background

Rebecca was born to a middle class family on Long Island NY in 2090. She was the middle child of 4, but only 1 or 2 who survived as her Oldest Sister died at age 20 from breast cancer, and her youngest brother died 3 minutes after birth diagnosed with a virulent form of Lung Cancer. Her mother Doris Dawson would never recover after her brothers death, and committed suicide in 2105.

Her father Kevin Dawson was Police Commissioner in the City of New York, and was her inspiration to go to the Police Academy after college. In 2112 she was an officer for the New York City Police Department. So adept to police work she moved up in ranks to become a detective in 2117. That same year she would marry her partner Gary Teller. It would come to light in 2118 that Teller was covering up several incidents of corporate crime for a cash payout. It was Rebecca who found out about her husbands criminal activities. The following year he was arrested, and they were divorced. Later that year her father would die at the age of 58, it was shortly after that she retired.

In 2120 the United Nations pressuring the Space Colonies about possible white slavery activities on their colonies was allowed to place the United Nations Defense Corps in the colonies. Jerald Hunt made several attempts to enlist Rebecca. it wasn't until after her Niece was abducted that she realized that she had to do what she can to end the White Slavery trade.

Events

In 2115, she answered a call about gunshots in the Red Hook section of Brooklyn. She would find the lifeless body of Carol Valencia who was apparent shot by a would be rapist. To this day the crime remains unsolved and is a nagging memory in her mind.

Cybernetics Ethics

Rebecca is a bit closed minded on the subject as she has resisted to having cybernetic implants. It was not until 2117 under the urging of her fiance did she finally have neural network implants. It was this ability that would also help her catch her husbands criminal activities.
