Heroine Prime 3: Chapter 14

It was moments later that the truck burst through the rusted corrugated door and sped across the base as the gun went critical and seemingly imploding, destroying everything inside as well as the hangar with it. A power feedback now raced back through the power lines, causing massive power feedback. Transformers exploded, unable to handle the massive overload. Meanwhile at the Power Plant, they see the massive charge heading their way. They start disengaging breakers in hopes the feedback don't reach the reactors. They got the first three, but not the fourth. As the charge hit the reactor, a massive explosion rocks the plant. The shock wave causes the earthen reservoir for the reactor to shift as the water spills out and starts down the valley to the small towns below.


The sounds of the nuclear plant’s emergency sirens filled the air as the ground quivers from the explosion and the roaring water that is heading down stream. It was then the Danvers’ car was on the Riverside Gap Bridge as Fred tries to keep the car steady. Edna and Linda look towards the north and see the massive wave of water and debris barreling down on them. Fred losses control and the car hit the guard rail, breaking through it and hangs precariously on the edge.

“You and Linda, get out. Make a break for the other side!” states a frantic Fred

“We'll never make it!” fires back Edna.

Linda looks at the situation, as other cars as well are in danger. She opens her door and says. “Hold on!” She then heads for the side of the bridge and jumps off. Edna screams in horror as she watched her just jump off. Fred was also mortified as the water was seconds away from taking out the bridge and everything on it and then that water seemed to halt. They couldn’t believe it but it started to settle and pass under the bridge. Just then, they felt the car jolt as they rose up in the air, not knowing that Kara was under the car lifting it and flying it to the safe end of the bridge. As she sat the car down, Fred and Edna were in shock as they looked at the maiden of might who smiled. They recognized that smile.

“Mom...Dad...I will explain soon. Stay here and be safe.” she said as she flew off in a blue blur. She then retrieved the other vehicles and people of the gap bridge as the massive torrent still had tons of debris in it. After securing the bridge, she took off like a bullet downstream, trying to get ahead of the flood. The town below was bracing for the worse as she made it to the Valley opening. She dove into the rocky earth, digging out huge rocks and boulders and started constructing a makeshift reservoir.
