HyperCon Cynthis

There were many fans at the Hyper Con having a sensational time as heroes from Angel Falls actually meet their fans. Among those being admired, Cynthis had attracted quite a large crowd of young men whom seem to be in awe of the blue haired cybernetic heroine. She wasn't new to the attention as she has always been sociable to the public. Fielding questions and signing autographs was nothing new to her, but her fans were amazed on her candor and honesty. Some finding it very hard to believe she is truly a Gynoid until she speaks.

It was during the last few hours when she was signing autograph pictures that she was approached by a young man. He appeared to be in his mid-thirties. He had short blonde hair and green eyes and seemed to be fixated on Cynthis face as she smiled and signed a photograph.

As she handed him the photograph, he asked, “Could I ask you a question?”

“Certainly.”

“I know you can't tell me your identity, as well you can assume anyone’s appearance if necessary but...is this like...your true appearance?”

She pauses a second, yet keeps her expression. “Could you please clarify your query?”

“Well, it's like this. If you were created, and this is your appearance, common thought would be you would be a mirror of your creator.”

“I see. So in your perception, my appearance would be the true appearance of the Changeling?”

The young man nods, somewhat embarrassed as Cynthis continues to gaze at him. “I...I was just wondering...I mean, you figure some super villain would figure that.”

“True, if I was a mirror image of the Changeling, which I am not.”

“What about mistaken identity. It's just...a person’s face is unique. Is there a possibility that there could be someone out there that looks a lot like you? Well, minus the blue hair.”

Cynthis found herself confronted with a conundrum as she processed the response to the question. Her identity was based on a young woman who was a distant relative, and who passed away over 20 years ago. It took her .0067 seconds to respond which to her was an eternity.

“Only someone with something to gain would presume to ask such a question.”

The young man seemed a bit spurned by her answer. “I assure you, I only ask because...I...was wondering if anyone...said you...remind them of someone.”

Cynthis raised an eyebrow. “I never been approached with such a statement, although there have been 7,432 instances of sexual innuendo pertaining to such ….”

“No...No...Please...I'm so sorry I bothered you Miss Cynthis.” he says after he cuts her off. “Thank you for your honesty.”

He exits as the next patron approaches the booth. Cynthis seems to maintain her same cheerful appearance, yet her mind was working hard on the question asked. Could Cassandra Fuller actually be someone of concern? Could her identity compromise Cynthia as well as the Crowne’s, or herself? Even at something as innocent as a Convention, she finds herself compelled to deal with the fact of being human.
