USS Federation Drydock 4

As pictured here this is the USS Federation as of 2268. It is about to go off on it's first Official 5 year mission under the command of Captain Benjamin Harstinger. The next 5 years will be trying for the crew s they patrol the Alpha Cygnus Sector of the Beta Quadrant. An area that lays inbetween Klingon, and Romulan Border, and a disputed area as they are not affiliated with no one.

The Federation is sent as a Deterrent, although over this tie the Federation Council will argue that point. The Federation is viewed as a ship of war. Yet in that 5 year period, it proved it can be an explorer, a life saver, and a God send for amny who have needed it. It would survive to make refit, and finally retire in 2307 as more Excelsior Class ships are commissioned.

There were 20 ships to be built, but only 12 were built, 9 of them reached retirement, and only one reached the museum.
