I don't mind them making new characters or merging with wildstorm

But at least leave the origin stories intact

Too accept change means to embrace no imagination. To have no imagination is to accept anything unwillingly. I'd rather die then accept this change.

No, to deny change is to kill off all imagination

And tell me, what imagination is there in the New 52? Embracing modern day realism over the imaginative, colorful, and storied histories they had. I see no imagination, just the same senseless drivel accompanied to any television, or motion picture drama. Thy are no longer super, nor heroes, just dysfunctional characters loaded with flaws.

If that's your best reply, then if my opinion is flawed by "Stupidity" then I guess any opinion is also in the same vain. After all I expressed my concerns without directing commentary to your view, yet mine must be labeled. I refuse to drink the Kool-Aid, if that is Stupidity, the so be it.

I have nothing against anyone that enjoys it. It's just I think when someone continually tells me that they don't like me, I tend to dislike them as well. All those yeas following my heroes to see them re-imagined into something totally surreal as real life is not my cup of tea. I prefer them to be as they were.

I get where you are coming from. The New 52 is far from perfect, but I feel like the writers have taken some big risks that have tended to pay off (Though there are a few...)

Marvel Now! is doing so much better, though.

Marvel (for all intense purposes) have yet sold out their fan base. They have done some stupid things as well, but so far, nothing as cataclysmic as DC.

While hoping that Marvel just plays it safe in the meantime, I'll be continuing with the titles that I have thoroughly enjoyed (Those being Hawkeye, All New X-Men, Aquaman, and Batman. Yes, Batman. There are a few more, but these are my regulars.)

I do like that DC has experimented a bit with some minor characters such as Animal Man. I can at least sense that they are trying to find a vein.

I just read this past week writer walking ony a few days after getting the green light on no interference, while plans were made to kill off John Stewart. I mean seriously, give up a paycheck for morals? Talk about real heroes.

That's just... wow. So, DC denied the Stewart rumor, but there was still something wrong in order to make the writers walk so abruptly. So GL has another new writer. I'll be fine with that as long as 1) They do not kill off any Earth Lanterns and 2) Keep Scott Lobdell from writing it (Or any other book, for that matter.)
Even though it wasn't true, killing off popular characters for no reason is just a no-no. I still want Ralph and Sue Dibny back...

It’s been over a year now; are they ever going to put their train back on the tracks, or is this wreck just going to sit there and rust?

What I mean is, DC has always eventually backtracked their previous reboots, or at least tweaked them so they are more tolerable, and I’m wondering when this latest reboot will be reversed, too.

Ideally, they could go back to the old universe that you and I have followed for so many years, and keep the current one as an ongoing Elseworld for the new fans.

(Oh, and I messed-up the punctuation on “it’s” in my first comment. :iconhomerdohplz:)

Ahhhh like Marvel did...well it's a year in, and they seem to be sold on this. I just wonder will Jenny Olsen from the Zaxk Snyder be included in the New 52....then again...nevermind.

“Nevermind” is right; I haven’t been paying attention to Do-over Comics since they did this, which is a shame, as their trinity of Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman is quintessential Americana, and it’s a crime to take them away like they did.

And come on, didn’t the Joker look weird enough without making him keep his face on his head with straps and buckles? :wtf:

I like Flash, but it seems to me that they wanted to reboot Barry Allen, but keep his old history at the same time.

Also, I saw no point to ditching Helena Bertinelli. Why didn't they just keep Helena Wayne on the new Earth 2? World's Finest would be much more interesting to me if PG was forced to team up with the angrier and rougher Bertinelli Huntress. I'm sure it would be a shock for her, as she'd be more used to the Wayne Huntress.

'Bout time somebody did this. What they did to Power Girl's costume, and rebooting her history to totally block out her sweet young companion Terra Atlee is a crime.

I love the Huntress, but they also arbitrarily killed off Helena Bertinelli, and substituted Helena Wayne. Helena Bertinelli had an exciting past history and the concept of her becoming a crimefighter because of her Italian family being murdered by the Mafia is a much better concept than the daughter of Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle.

I continue to buy World's Finest, because the stories with Power Girl and Huntress are still interesting, but I wish they hadn't completely warped the canon of both characters to get their "reboot".

Mind you I am not a hater. For all who love the New 52, God bless. But remember this, in the future expect you hero to disappear, for in all this time DC has done nothing but that. I feel like I wasted my childhood reading comics, to see them do this to them.

The first time they did to me is when they brutally killed off Supergirl in "Crisis on Infinite Earth". I stopped buying comics for several years because they pissed me off so much.

I think the wake up call is just seeing Captain Marvel getting money for his deeds. The sad fact is they have changed them in such a way they are not someone that everyone can say are heroes. Time was you would say, what would Superman do? What would Batman do? Read the tripe now, it's more like well anyone would of done that.

Is that right?

I don't follow Captain Marvel, and I always considered the Marvel family as superheroes for the younger set, imparting good values to little kids and young readers. What does this say to parents that allow their kids to buy Captain Marvel? That he's not a hero, he's a money-grubbing mercenary. This is BULLshite!

Sadly true.

I remember back in the day, they did nice comics for kids, such as as Wendy the Good Witch, which presented a little adventure and taught the value of heroism to kids. Used to be DC tried to do the same with the Marvels, and with Superman and Batman, but they are trying so much to appeal to the adult comics market they are willing to corrupt the characters.

That's what scares me. Just read the boards and you can see the days back when you wanted to see that match up of Hero vs Viain, is now a social junket of questions that have absolutely nothing to do with the character. Sexual preference? Their political views? Who should they have a relationship with? Where are the conflicts? these aren't comics they are Young Teen Dramas, and if you are a child who adores say Spider Man, or Superman...you can't read this drivel.
